Nick Culkin - Cold Water Facilitator

Welcome! I’m Nick Culkin, former professional footballer turned wellness facilitator and cold water therapy guide. Over the years I’ve discovered that true strength isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, mental, and spiritual too. Now, I help others access that strength through cold water therapy, breathwork, movement and mindful living. If you’re ready to try something real, to lean into discomfort with support, or simply want to know more , I’d love to hear from you.

Join me in the cold, in the breath, in the edges. Let’s see what grows when we lean into what scares us.

My Cold Water Journey

From the Pitch to the Practice.

For many years, I played professional football. The discipline, the teamwork, the resilience demanded by the sport shaped me, taught me a lot about pushing limits and the value of recovery. But I came to understand that recovery isn’t just about the body, it’s about slow work, quiet pauses, and respect for what lies beneath the surface.

Finding Balance.

Outside the stadiums, I trained in yoga (RYT-200), deepening my awareness of breath, alignment, and presence. Gradually, I became drawn to more elemental practices, being in cold water, facing discomfort head-on, and learning what it means to truly let go. These experiences taught me that what we resist, we reinforce, and what we embrace, we transform.

Sobriety & Self-Discovery.

Four and a half years sober now, I know how powerful self-care, honesty, and support can be in transforming life. In this journey, I’ve learned to lean into vulnerability, to slow down, and to build rituals of strength.

What You Can Expect In My Classes

I lead cold water therapy sessions designed to help you reconnect with your body, reset your nervous system, and step into your power. My sessions combine:

  • Guided entry & immersion into cold water

  • Breathwork to steady the mind and regulate the nervous system

  • Movement and gentle stretching to support recovery and mobility

  • Mindfulness and meditation to help anchor new awareness

This work isn’t about macho toughness, it’s about courage, compassion, and showing up. It’s about learning what it feels like to be in the cold, what it feels like to breathe under pressure, how to return to yourself. I want to build community around wellness, not just as an add-on to busy lives, but as foundation: body, breath, nature, rest, courage. I want to support people in stepping into discomfort so they can discover resilience, authenticity and presence. I believe that we all have more inner strength than we know, and that cold water is one of the gateways to seeing that.
